In order to drive the car safely and improve the braking effect of the brake pads, when a new car starts to drive or the brake pads are replaced, the brake pads should go through a longer period of time, and should be run for many times, and are being treated. After running in, the protruding points of the brake pads are worn away, so that the brake disc and the brake pads can better match and achieve better braking performance. The break-in period of the brake pads is very long. During the running-in period, the speed of the car is limited, which will affect the normal use of the car. In order to reduce the running-in time, the surface of the automobile disc brake lining lining is carbonized.

In the last issue, we talked about the causes and hazards of carbonization. In this issue, we will talk about how to deal with this problem. If you are interested, let's read it together!

Because the carbonization of the brake pads can cause various safety hazards, driving safety can be endangered in severe cases. What caused it?

1. Reason: The newly replaced brake pads are thick, or the wrong type of brake pads are installed.

Solution: Install the correct type of brake pads. After replacing the brake pads, before testing, turn the brake disc by hand to check for paper jams.

2. Reason: The high temperature resistance of the brake pads is unqualified. According to national standards, the suitable working temperature of automobile brake pads is 100~350℃. However, there are still inferior brake pads on the market. They will be carbonized at 250°C and the friction coefficient will drop rapidly.

Solution: Install qualified brake pad products.

3. Reason: The brake pad auxiliary cylinder returns abnormally, the brake pad is stuck in the caliper groove or the caliper guide pin is stuck, causing the brake to be dragged.

Solution: Check the brake system and maintain it regularly.

4. Reason: continuous downhill during driving, braking for a long time.

Solution: When going downhill continuously, lower the gear and open the auxiliary brake to control the speed. Do not step on the brake continuously, it will take effect immediately; the main reason for brake failure is that the brake is used too frequently and the brake pads are too hot to cause the brake to fail. Therefore, when driving downhill in mountainous areas, do not continue to apply the brakes and try to use point brakes to prevent the brakes from overheating and causing brake failure.

5. Reason: Forgot to put down the handbrake.

Solution: The brake pad manufacturer recommends carefully check the various tips of the vehicle before driving and put down the handbrake. Many cars now have automatic parking features to avoid such problems.

The above is all the content of this issue. I hope it will help you. Would you like to know how often the brake pads are changed? Pay attention to us, in the next issue we will explain the related issues of brake pad replacement frequency!
